The Ford Mustang has become synonymous with powerful, high horsepower - not to mention fast - cars. While one can still purchase a Ford Mustang with a tuned-down engine, there are those enthusiasts who want to eek as much power from this classic muscle car as possible.
The latest Ford Mustang offers roughly three engine options, but almost all these engines offer special edition packages that can be turned to evoke more power from your Mustang. The base engine is a turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder that is surprisingly quick. One can opt to add the High-Performance package to this base engine in order to boost the acceleration and responsiveness of the Mustang.
GT trim models offer a V8 gasoline engine that boasts a 460 horsepower. One can opt for a six-speed manual transmission or a ten-speed automatic. Two other packages for boosting speed are the Bullitt package and the Performance Pack Level 2.
